KIPURA MISCALLED CAPOEIRA VS THE INVADING PORTUGUESE: THE BATTLE OF KITOMBO
There are those who point to "Angola" as the source of Kipura msicalled "capoeira", but this is incorrect for three reasons:
1. The term "Angola", as proven in previous posts I have written, is a misnomer drawn from the Mbundu term "Ngola" which means "RULER". The actual name for the Kingdom miscalled by Europeans "Angola" is NDONGO [ and later NDONGO-MATAMBA as Ngola Ginga overwhelmed and annexed the Kingdom of Matamba, neighbor of Ndongo ].
2. The founder of Ndongo was Ngola Kiluanje, a cousin of the Mwemenkongo [ Emperor of Kongo Empire ] who brought Kipura of Kongo to Ndongo. This primarily Kongo style would further evolve in the Ndongo Kingdom and region into a specific style of Kipura particular to that region of Ndongo, in the same way that Brazilian jiujitsu is a form of Nihon miscalled Japanese Judo that's specific to Brazil.
3. The brand of Kipura brought to Ndongo by Ngolo Kiluanje was the dominant style practiced in Kongo which he learned as a boy and practiced all of his life before venturing into the Kingdom he would later name NDONGO. The Kingdom of Ndongo was...from its very creation...a vassal state of The Empire of Kongo.
Local Ndongo and Kongo evidence and tradition provide substantial reason to believe that both The Empire of Kongo AND The Kingdom of Ndongo are older than what European scholars would mislead the rest of the world into believing, even now as you read my blog.
During the colonial era, Kipura miscalled capoeira was practiced on the continent of Alkebulan miscalled Africa and used in devastatingly effective fashion to slaughter many armies raised by Europeans and Arabs with the sole purpose of enslaving my Alkebulan ancestors. Contrary to much of popular miseducation, indoctrination and outright lies about the challenges faced when attempting to overcome my ancestors...such work was both extremely difficult and extremely complex. Both extremely frustrating and extremely puzzling to the minds and bodies of those invaders to my ancestral Alkebulan continent.
There were many such battles with the defending Alkebulan forces emerging victorious, which is why the continent of Alkebulan took well over 5000 years to fall to invasive forces [ mostly due to the unbelievable pressures of the combination of the drying up of Alkebulan miscalled Africa's inland oceans, the relentless withdrawal of arable land which starved thousands and opened the way for invasion by Arabs and Europeans, as well as the monstrous conflicts caused by the evil elite rich European and Arabic enslavers...as opposed to their impoverished White and mixed counterparts whom the evil rich elite battered with intense Feudalist anchored discrimination ].
In typical dishonest fashion, the biased European and Arabic chroniclers left writing which in turn oftentimes both caused and forced to amplify internal Alkebulan vs Alkebulan conflict in precisely the same way that the battle told about their forays into Alkebulan were dishonest propaganda overemphasizing their military prowess and frankly lying abaout the way in which they subjugated my forebearers. The military prowess of the invaders was nowhere near sufficient to overcome the great warriors and leaders of Alkebulan miscalled Africa.
But...as towering scholars of the highest repute and great integrity like Dr. Chancellor Williams in his work THE DESTRUCTION OF BLACK CIVILIZATION was able to comprehensively prove beyond any sane doubt...the invasion ofthe Arabs and Europeans...however cruel imhumane and ferocious they were... were not the primary conflicts that my ancestors had to face. If they were? My ancestors would have overcome these invaders as they had in almost all previous occassions. The main threat...and the only time in human history such simultaneously threats were prevalent at all, much less to the staggering degree these threats manifested only in Alkebulan...was Nature ravaging the whole length and breadth of the continent of Alkebulan, with the unprecedented effect of devouring inland seas, crushing mountain ranges, erasing and recarving hills, blasting thronging rich succulent packed wilderness and forests the size of several European countries into suffocating deserts, relentlessly consuming arable land, slaughtering animals and plant life crucial to animal and human survival, and unleashing a measured form of Armageddon on life's indispensable resources in Alkebulan. The mind isn't capable of conceiving the horrors of such a combination of threats. The Zombie Apocalypse would seem the Herald of Heaven returning by comparison.
It is this combination of attacks by Nature which both caused and intensified the infighting among my Alkebulan ancestors as they...thrown against the most implacable of enemies, Nature herself...were forced into competing and fighting for the ( at the time ) dwindling precious resources and requirements sustaining life. This is what caused the destruction of mighty empires, abd forced tens of thousands...swelling to millions...to travel distances from merely a few miles to seemingly lapping the perimeter of Alkebulan in search of life sustaining and protecting Nature...only to have to be locked into warfare with their fellow kinsman in order to have enough resources to live on.
It is this horrific circumstances that the opportunistic, unblinkingly corrupt and evil elites ( not the masses of people, the elites aka the #racistfeudalists ) of Europe and the Arab world took advantage of, then lied about in order to promote and perpetuate the myths of innate European and Arabic superiority over we of Alkebulan.
In order to hope to begin to envision a modern day equivalent to what in fact befell Alkebulan over the long millennia marking thousands of years? Imagine that the current climate crisis gripping the entire planet of Earth was amplified 100x and struck primarily the USA, Europe, Arabia, and the Mediterranean over millenia with the devastating consequence of reducing arable land in all these countries to 1/5th of its current size, and reducing potable water by same. Compound this by genocidal wars being raged in The Middle East, paced by the relentless evaporation of The Mediterranean Sea. This would have catastrophic impact beyond modern imagining. Now imagine that while this is happening? Alkebulan miscalled Africa launches a consistent two pronged military and immigration invasion of these countries, finally overcoming the entirety of the countries and areas comprising The Arabic World, Israel, the USA and Eastern Europe. Then imagine Alkebulan proclaiming itself to be the highest order of humanity, always having been foremost and forefront in all things human, and all people of lighter skin are inferior to we of Alkebulan by genetic reality and the divine will of Teh Creator of All Things...and you'd still have something far less dishonest and far less inhumane than what Europe and The ARab World did. For Alkebulan didn't follow this by attempting both targeted geneocide and perpetual enslavement of all White people on Earth, while forever occupying and draining the indigenous homeland of Whites. .
One of many. Many. Such victorious battles by Kipura warriors was The Battle of Kitombo. In typical warped fashion, European and USA historians usually try to hide knowledge of such events by never mentioning them. When forced to mention them by Alkebulan and honest scholars of al lcolors...in that order...these White "scholars" attempt to downplay the brilliant strategies, tactics and resounding victories which are due to the Alkebulan forces in order to shift the glory rightly deserved by my ancestors to the shoulders of whatever minor European presence amongst us that may or may not be there.
They attempted such with The Battle of Kitombo thusly:
"...the decisive engagement of the campaign occurred near or at a wooded area called Nfinda Ngula near the large village of Kitombo in October. During the interval, both forces were able to reorganise and to replenish their supplies. The Soyo army used this time to re-equip themselves with more arms from their Dutch allies.[6] The BaKongo forces regrouped at Nfinda Ngula, a densely forested area that had served Soyo well in their battles against Kongo during the invasions of Garcia II. The Soyo-Ngoyo army rallied around Estêvão Da Silva and his light artillery pieces.[10][5] It proved difficult to access for the Portuguese artillery, allowing the allied force to use the Dutch light field pieces to good effect. They then charged and routed the Portuguese. The colonial army was comprehensively destroyed.[6] The Portuguese not killed in the battle drowned attempting to flee across the river or were captured.[6] Legend has it the captives were offered as white slaves to the Dutch.[6] Its commander, de Almeida, died during the battle.[5] The number of casualties among the Soyo forces are unknown.[11]..."
The exaggerations, lies and overzealous attempts to skew the facts in favor of European forces and Eurocentric history by European "historians" [ in actuality lying propagandists ] is evidenced in the above passages. In reality, the Soyo-Ngoyo forces were nowhere near heavily dependent upon or significantly reliant upon the Dutch soldiers. In reality, there were substantially far less fatalities suffered by the victorious, Kipura fighting style practicing army of Soyo-Ngoyo...and these fatalities weren't "unknown". The people of Soyo-Ngoyo knew at the time how many had fallen, and mourned them. The reality is that these Eurocentric scholars are so biased and racist in their approach, that they assume that if they the Europeans don't know or don't want to tell the truth about a topic? Then nobody knows and nobody wants to tell the truth about the topic. Regarding these Dutch allies who are inferred to be such mighty contributers to the victory my Kipura warrior ancestors of Soyo-Ngoyo achieved over the invading Portuguese? The truth and reality is there were only 60 to 120 Dutch "allies", none of whom really took to the field of battle. By contrast, there were THOUSANDS of warriors from Soyo-Ngoyo, all of whom were front and center on the battlefield and did nearly 100% of the fighting. Most of the Dutch "soldiers" were moreso merchants who supplied second hand rifles to the forces of Soyo-Ngoyo, whereas all of the warriors of Sogyo Ngoyo were famous for their incredible expertise in Kipura, the skill sets prevalent and emphasized in its substyles [ like Libanda, Kandeka,Engolo etc ] and most especially the brilliant, cunning, high speed, explosive, silent, patient, stalking and shocking fighting style emphasized more by the warriors of Soyo-Ngoyo than other vassals of the Kongo Empire to such an extent that this specific iteration became a signature style of the warriors of Soyo-Ngoyo.The truth of Kipura's rather routine victories against Europea and Arabic invading armies is somewhat accidentally unveiled, admitted to and acknowledged by European scholars attempting to deny exactly such things by the very next passage they write:
"...The Battle of Kitombo was a humiliating defeat for the Portuguese and a boon for the state of Soyo. Portuguese Angola remained hostile to Soyo and Kongo, but they dared not venture back.[3] Soyo and the House of Kimpanzu became even more powerful in the politics of the region, but never attained the wealth of pre-Mbwila Kongo as the Portuguese had feared..."
Pre-Mbwila Kongo was dominated by Kipura warriors and Kipura geniuses in all fields of human endeavor which made The Empire of Kongo essentially unbeatable by outside forces. As you might imagine, such invincibility is of the very stuff of nightmares for both the White Arabic and White European evil enslaving governments, corporations, merchants and all of their supporters.
There are stories, documentation and legends surrounding the use of Kipura miscalled capoeira in resisting Dutch invaders and confronting oppressive figures like Major Vidigal. Kipura miscalled capoeira by Raphael Bluteau in the hyear 1712 [ and thus did Bluteau first record the word "Capoeira" for the first time in world history ] has a long history of being used as a form of resistance against various forms of oppression in Brazil. This is concurrent with its vibrant spiritual, healing, musical , cultural , historical, keen mental stimulation and philosophical traditions which allowed Kipura practitioners to contribute on all fronts to innovations and progress first all-Black and later racially mixed societies.
Yes, there were different expressions of skill sets...differing "styles within the style of Kipura and subset styles of Kipura"...even a thousand or so years ago. The style of Kipura preferred by Soyo-Ngoyo was visually different than the style preferred by...for example... the great and mighty military Kingdom of Bamba [ which is the location of the probable birthplace of Kipura ], Ndongo and other Kingdoms constituting The Empire of Kongo. This occurrence is incredibly natural, in the same sense that for example the style of karate most popular in Nippon miscalled Japan is different than the style of karate most popular in the USA. Such a difference doesn't mean that Nippon miscalled Japan is practicing karate, whereas the USA is not.
This rich, cunning, brilliant legacy of Kipura resistance, innovation, intellectual stimulation and more was manifested at every turn via nonstop resistance to any and all forms of maltreatment and/or enslavement by enslaved Alkebulans miscalled Africans as a way to defend themselves and maintain their bodies, hearts, souls, dignity, honor and cultural identity in the mindbreakingly cruel lands of enslavement colonized by the brutal European merchants [ who...while not as cruel or dismissive to poor Whites... then and right now to this current day of July 6th 2023 still display a huge Feudlaism birthed class prejudice rooted massive disdain for poor and/or working calss Whites even to this very day of July 6th 2023 when I write this blog ]. Even though the system of chattel enslavement was created with such horrifically cruel and evilly cunning attention to detail that Europeans and Arabs rightly concluded that none of them could survive the combination of nonstop horrifically brutal assaults upon their person, literally intentionally and maliciously death dealing labor, and punishingly unforgiving climate...my ancestors survived such horrifically inhumane maltreatment, AND broke free from such systems with such increasing success that we eventually destroyed chattel enslavement entirely.
Do not make the mistake of thinking that any European or Arabic governed country, in and of its own,ever could, ever would, or ever desired to end chattel enslavement or even non-race based indentured servitude due to some humanitarian revelation they received. If such revelations were capable of being received by these utterly evil governments and merchants...as opposed to the actually decent White and mixed people these rapacious governments daily governed...then their moral rectitude would have prevented them from creating or enforcing race based enslavement [ Arabs ] and Chattel Slavery [ Europeans ] in the first place.
And this is AFTER the Europeans attempted to invade and mistreat and disrespect Ogedei Khan, son of Genghis Khan, who...with operations planned by General Subutai (1175–1248) and commanded by Batu Khan (c. 1207–1255) and Kadan (d. c. 1261), two grandsons of Genghis Khan...would have thunderously and overwhelmingly colonized all of Eastern Europe and most of Western Europe for their brazen, impudent disrespect and repeated, fundamental offensive behaviors toward the Khans of Mongolia. It's the ramifications of this Mongolian Golden Horde invasion which started the Feudal Era of Europe as we know it...and the grasping, soulless profiteers of Europe and Arabia learned zero lessons of humane behavior or humane empathy even after this. As proven by their [ if given any option or choice to do so ] extreme maltreatement of Alkebulan miscalled Africa and Alkebulans miscalled Africans worldwide even to this very moment that I write this blog.
