Montu is one of many correct names for the entire category of Afrikan arts. It's like saying "gungfu" for the general category of arts for Zhongghuo [ China ], or using the term "Karate" as a general category and catchphrase for all arts of Nippon [ Japan ]. "Kipura"...the art of the region called "Kongo"... is the art improperly called "capoeira". I will explain the history of Montu in another newlsetter.
All Afrikan Montu [ fighting systems using the general war arts dedicated to MONTU-RA, the war aspect of the God called Ra ] STARTS with African self defense techniques, African spirituality and African fighting culture. He knows all the healing secrets and nourishing properties of all plant life of the mountains, volcanoes, deserts, etc. Because of his affinity for mountains and volcanoes, Agayu is ALSO an expression of the Earth and Fire Principles... but mostly the Earth Principle.
So. With one Orisha? You get millenia of lessons of wisdom. Hundreds of Animal Fighting Styles [ no one person can or ever will learn all of just Agayu's Animal Fighting Styles, much less learn all of the Animal Fighting Styles of the collective Orisha ], at least one of which will fit each adherent of Agayu's lessons.
