INTERNATIONAL SELF DEFENSE FIGHTING TIP OF THE DAY: AMERICAN STREET FIGHT
Just as I promised you, here is the inaugural International Self Defense Technique of the Day. This incident happened in my home country of America. We will examine what happened and I will show you a way to resolve this fight using the techniques I show in my videos.
As always, remember: ALL FIGHTS ARE TO BE AVOIDED. WALK AWAY, RUN AWAY, TALK YOUR WAY OUT OF A FIGHT IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
But when it's not possible? Then you have to defend yourself. Responsibly, effectively, and legally.
Here is the situation in America. A fight between two Black teenagers, the aggressor being the Black man with no shirt on.
I will call the aggressor "No Shirt" because he isn't wearing a shirt. The defender is "Shirt". SHIRT should have done this to NO SHIRT:
The first thing that the defender should have done, if possible? Run away. Like this:
No Shirt is like most untrained aggressors. Heavily right handed. Almost zero left hand strikes unless in combination with the right. Both men swing with more "slap" than "snap" in their punches, but their wide winging blows do have some power in them. This means that No Shirt is susceptible to kicks.
Both kids are athletes and...judging by the tackles, the kind of "bridge and turn" technique and high amplitude lift to slam used in their grappling.. have played American football before. Their movements bear the stamp of kids watching NFL football and WWE Wrestling. The kicks I showed in my video above would have made a big difference, as No Shirt is unused to them.
Another major facet here is the lack of head movement, the lack of a educated left hand arsenal, and the glaring lack of footwork. If you pay attention to my video, the first few seconds contain the importance of using footwork to find the proper, safe Angle of Entry on No Shirt, and then the use of hard kicks to damage the leg and bring the hands down. Then I enter with a level change, groin punch and KOKOSE BIREKI [ Ankle Break ].
