The Vanishing Act: Kipura Warriors and the Lost Art of Escape

In the video above? The father, child and neighbor appear to be quite heroic and right in all they attempted to do. I decry the actions of the apparent bullies who wanted to take a bike from a kid. Who does that? Every single person who encouraged or aided in this attempt should be put in jail. Period.

I am in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM DENIGRATING THE VICTIMS HERE. Instead, I want to advocate for them to learn self defense. Unfortunately for the father, son and their neighbor, they were not versed in the skills of Njia Uhuru Kipura, and that makes all the difference.

Title: The Vanishing Act: Kipura Warriors and the Lost Art of Escape

In the face of overwhelming odds and formidable adversaries, there are moments when the wisest course of action is not to stand and fight, but to escape and evade. For the legendary warriors of Kipura, renowned for their ability to overcome armed patrols with ease, this art of elusiveness has been perfected to a breathtaking degree. Kipura warriors possess a set of skills that go far beyond what any sport athlete could ever dream of, and their perilous escapades have left a lasting mark on history.

The Kipura warriors' remarkable abilities encompass a wide range of physical feats that include dancing pirouettes, jitterbug jukes, and simultaneous hit-and-run defenses. These awe-inspiring skills are characterized by their exceptional speed, agility, jumping ability, and acrobatic prowess. They excel in negotiating obstacles, climbing, swimming, crawling, swinging, and even jumping off or down from great heights. These talents have not only birthed sports like Parkour and Gymnastics but have also kept Kipura warriors safe in the most dangerous of situations.

What sets the Kipura warriors apart is their ability to employ these extraordinary skills to escape from perilous encounters. Eye-witness accounts speak of Kipura warriors on foot effortlessly evading pursuit by apex predators, such as leopards, while being pursued by armed human beings. These pursuits often involve the firing of rifles, pistols, spears, arrows, and even cannons. Yet, the Kipura warriors demonstrate a seemingly supernatural ability to evade their pursuers.

Arabic observers and European missionaries marveled at the Kipura warriors' quickness when filling their water skins at local rivers, where they could avoid sudden ambush attacks by crocodiles. Even more astonishingly, they possessed the prowess to drive these fearsome reptiles back into the waters from which they emerged, unscathed.

One particularly remarkable story recounts a Kipura youth prodigy whose brachiation skills allowed him to outmaneuver an entire group of pursuing baboons. He effortlessly swung through the trees of the rainforest, gliding gracefully like a swan over a cliff that dropped 60 feet into crocodile-infested waters. Astonishingly, he managed to evade the crocodiles and reach the far bank, his treasure of fruits intact, all while laughing heartily.

In contrast to the awe-inspiring skills of Kipura warriors who excelled in the art of escaping, eluding, and evading danger, Cardio Capoeira has deviated from the roots of this extraordinary discipline. While Capoeira itself is a fascinating blend of martial art, dance, and music, Cardio Capoeira has shifted its focus towards a more dance-like, cardiovascular exercise routine, neglecting the essential aspects of self-defense and evasion that defined the true essence of Kipura warriors.

Cardio Capoeira's emphasis on fitness and performance, while entertaining and beneficial in its own right, has lost touch with the living legends who possessed the unparalleled ability to escape from life-threatening situations. Kipura warriors like Madam Sata, Nascimento Grande, Kilombo and Malta warriors, the Jagunjagun, and others were not merely skilled in dance and acrobatics; they were masters of survival, capable of outwitting armed pursuers and apex predators.

Mwalimu Mtaalam Ras Fletcher, in his pursuit of preserving the rich heritage of Kipura, has been meticulous in avoiding the same mistakes. He understands that the true essence of Kipura lies in its ability to empower individuals with life-saving skills, enabling them to escape the most dire of circumstances. By continuing to uphold the principles and techniques of Kipura, Mwalimu Mtaalam Ras Fletcher ensures that the art remains a testament to the incredible prowess of its legendary warriors and their unmatched ability to escape and evade danger. In doing so, he keeps the legacy of these remarkable individuals alive, inspiring generations to come with their awe-inspiring feats of elusiveness and survival.
