THE NYANI RAHISI: THE REAL "ROLE" OF CAPOEIRA

 You never heard of the Nyani Rahisi, have you? But  if you've taken Cardio Capoeira...Angola, Regionale, Moderna, Contemperaneo, whatever flavor you take...I bet you've heard of the technique called "Role". For those of you who haven't, and for those of you who are beginners and whatnot? Here's a brief primer on the Role: The "role" in Capoeira refers to a rolling movement used by practitioners to evade attacks and maintain their balance during a game (called a "jogo"). The role is a fundamental defensive and evasive technique in Capoeira, and it allows the practitioner to quickly change position and/or avoid getting kicked or hit by their opponent. There are different variations of the role, including the "rolê para frente" (forward roll) and the "rolê para trás" (backward roll).
